“Don’t let yesterday’s thoughts crowd out today’s visions.” – Sam Barber https://open.spotify.com/track/2RSOPh3dQYXIf4v17UTit3?si=7029d274ecd943ae (Take a listen, this song changed my life)
Change is imminent. It will happen right before your eyes or hit you in the face like a freight train out of nowhere. Either way, it’s all about how you pick yourself up after the unknowing of what’s to come. Within every shift lies an opportunity for growth!!
My whole life has been about change and how to overcome it. Even though, when it happens, I don’t pick myself up right away. It’s okay to feel sad for the first day or two after a major life shift. Shoot maybe even for a week. — One thing I don’t want you to do is let it go too far for too long. The first thing after I give my mind a day to rest from the stress, I accept the change. That’s the only way to move forward. You will look back and ask, “What did I do wrong?” “Why is this happening to me?” — but maybe ask in a different way? Ask, “What does this change mean for me?” “How will this change grow me?” Once I look at it in a different light, I start to see the blessings inside of the Change.
You might think I sound crazy when I say, “Yes, this change that made you not eat or sleep for days will be shown as a blessing in disguise.” — but closed doors often lead us to unexpected opportunities we wouldn’t have taken without the change! It’s a major mindset shift you have to taken on, and truly tap into your true self. In this blog I want to give you some ideas to help you overcome change when they happen unexpectedly. Now I am no professional, but I do have a lot of faith in God, and the Universe and I know they are guiding me to the right path. You have to begin that path yourself though, by retraining your thoughts and keeping gratitude in your heart.
First, I sit in bed for a day or two. Yes you heard me right. I let myself feel the pain, the unknowing and shock I just went through. Now it is a good time to keep yourself hydrated as much as you can, even when you feel you can’t eat a cracker. Please try to keep something in your body, that way the stress doesn’t make you sick. I also will reach out to my support system. It is very big that you don’t push people out at this time. I know you may feel that you don’t want to talk to anyone. You may feel betrayed, broken and and trust is lost. — but that is all in your head! Those negative thoughts are consuming you! So please, reach out to your friends and family. Have them help you through this, so you aren’t alone.
Second, I start to get my morning routine back. The first thing I do when I wake is read my “Jesus Calling” Prompt book. (I will post link below) I like to spend my first waking moments with him. In gratitude and faith. After that, I read a daily prompt from my “Simple Abundance Book” – Now this book is a freaking life changer!!!! I swear I haven’t appreciated life and simplicity in a very long time. But, this book has helped me reshape my mindset on everything! I jump on a 10 min meditation podcast, but I don’t meditate the normal way lol I am one who can’t sit still, so I stretch while I meditate and speak my affirmations after each breath. – – This morning routine has helped me more than I could admit.
Third, when I start to get my health back and my mind. I slowly start getting back into the world and seeing what this change is doing for me. If you don’t get out of bed, leave the house and be in-front of others. You may never find why the change happened! Things will come to you in ways you never even thought and you will see blessings all around. In the smiling faces of strangers, the small conversations we have and the beauty of the world. Smell the roses, walk by the beach and listen to the waves or just go sit on your favorite park bench. Nature has a way of healing. โค
Remember, there is no stopping fate. So breathe, live and get out of bed. Nothing is waiting for you on the inside.
xoxo, alli<3
