What does this mean to you?
I know to me, it’s how i strive to live my life daily. Leaving the negative vibes home & bringing the most positive vibes i can into the world. So I’m able to help someone else grow their positive mindset about life, people and their-self. Sometimes we have to suck up our pride and realize EVERYONE is going through it. Every hour, minute and second of everyday. We can either be the ones who contribute more to the negative life we have or we can be the percentage of the population to be gods light workers ✨
Which brings me to the meaning of this post⭐️
I’ve been through plenty of real estate deals showing me they need more nurturing people in this business. When my parents passed, I had to sell their beach house in Ocean City, Maryland. That was probably the first time i realized i needed to get into the business. I have nothing bad to say about who helped me, she actually was very knowledgeable in that market & helped me in every way possible. The thing was though, once those papers were signed and the keys were handed over, i never heard from her again. That was my first ehhh about a realtor & that was at 18! lol
Fast forward to when I bought my home here in Charleston. New to the area & wanting to move from Maryland it was hard to be able to go and search for homes. So, I did research on the area, found a realtor & flew out one weekend knowing I would be purchasing my first home. – Now, in the months leading up to going, i did not ONCE get any information or “help” from my realtor. I kinda just went in blind, and gathered my own information on Charleston – which is nothing like it truly is! Trust me, Charleston is a beautiful city. Full of fun, food, sun and night life but the traffic is another story in the summer. I ended up choosing Johns island to be my home. It was a sense of walking into your dream home, you just know. It was a super easy decision, I bought at the right price and she didn’t have me pay over asking. ✔️
2 years later while working at my previous job, I met Kat – she is a local realtor in charleston & has been in business for years. I had explained to her I wanted to look into selling my home in the future. So, she had looked into the tax info on my house & informed me i had been paying 4% instead of 6% on the taxes! I was in awe, at her findings. I was relieved to find out I could get my money back, but all could’ve been avoided if i received the correct information in the beginning. Instead, she handed me my keys and I never heard from her again.
Unfortunately, this happens more frequently than we would like. I was once that scared first time homebuyer and that’s why i want to flip the script 💪🏼
To be successful as a real estate broker, you know you have to be personable, businesslike, assertive, and empathetic all at once. You have to be a negotiator, a therapist, a problem-solver, a connector, a friend, and an advocate.
So now, you see why I always wanted to become an agent. I have always been confident in knowing I can help others purchase a new home with ease. I am here for you every step of the way, from beginning to end. In real estate it’s important to LISTEN & not always SPEAK first.
From the moment that you greet your client(s) you should start with asking them about their wants and needs, family lifestyle and job. You need to learn what is going to be the best neighborhood for them, research the best deals and know the area will be good for them in the long run. You should know that their commute is reasonable and know what schools are best for their kids, know the best activities in the area and more! You have to be an expert in your field, while being a friend to them as well. Next make sure you are sending them homes that fit their criteria, budget & location! Don’t go outside of that. Also, if you think they may need some information about the area since they are new, educate them!🩵 Make sure to show them as many homes as you need, so they are able to find “the one.”
I make sure to educate my clients on what I will be providing for them and the value i will bring. But, when it all comes to an end and you’ve found your dream home, and i go to hand you the keys. Just know you won’t be alone. You ever questions, need help moving or figuring out what to do when done. I am that girl! I love helping and seeing the satisfaction on someone’s face, when it’s all said and done.
I want to be able to make a change in this business. One too many times I’ve heard of the horror stories someone has had with an agent and it truly breaks my heart. I want to be able to build a strong foundation with my clients and educate them and show them that i’m not JUST their realtor. 🩵 A good realtor isn’t only there for one transaction, they are there for life 🥹 – so now we can be facebook friends 🦋
xoxo, Katt
