You ever feel like you come to a breaking point? – Where you are just riding the same carousel, over and over again. Dying to jump off at every point you cross the exit but can’t? Well I wouldn’t be shocked because I feel like we all have. – I am currently juggling so many hats at once, so at what point do you not let the stress of it all take you down?
I got into real estate full force October of 2022 and had began working as a host at Minero on Johns Island in Charleston SC. I was working 4 days a week while doing open houses on the weekend and going into the office when i could. I still wasn’t making enough just hosting while real estate was up and coming for me. So I decided to start a serving job at Taco Boy on Folly Beach! – Which everyone should know where that is! – I knew I could make good money during the summer time & be able to make it the same time at Minero. I did that for a good couple of months until one day I just hit a wall.
I had been working 7-10 hour shifts at Taco Boy making great money but the other days I would go to Minero and host. I wasn’t making what I needed to & one day i woke up and knew I wasn’t happy anymore. I literally worked all the time, never saw my friends and burnt myself out on open houses. It was tiring, mentally and physically. So one day I woke up, & usually when I see myself slipping I am very good at figuring out the problem & working through it right away. So I went under the bridge on Johns Island (Stono) The one I always go to when things get hard & I need to come back to myself. I sat down there on my favorite bench & just spoke to myself. Told myself what I needed to change & I did. After I left I felt the biggest relief. – I spoke with Minero who knows that I needed to be making money & putting my extra time off into RE. So I took a step back from hosting and started working at Taco Boy 4 times a week. For extra income while RE is beginning for me.
The reality is though, you need to be able to catch yourself when ur slipping away & find the track that will lead to the road of less stress. I knew I needed my time off in the office & conversing with clients. I loved hosting at Minero but I knew the time I was there I could’ve been putting into my career as an agent. So I took a step back & looked at my life. Saw the obstacles I had to hurdle through but did. I now can spend my downtime from Taco Boy doing open houses, going into my office, seeing friends and family more. It’s definitely a change but what is life if you aren’t constantly changing and growing?

I now am able to balance life so much better without all that weight in my shoulders. You just have to remember to always put yourself first, even though you have such empathy for others. The next time you feel as if you are going around in circles on a carousel and you can’t seem to get off, just take a step back and reevaluate everything going on around you. Slow down for one second & feel the pain you need to, that way you are able to pull yourself back up and figure out the next plan.
